Leadership is evolving and changing in any industry and to meet the changes Algonquin College in Pembroke is hosting their annual conference with several speakers and industry leaders.
Manager of community and student affairs Jodi Bucholtz says anyone who attends the conference will have the tools needed to ensure success, and they’ll be able to adapt to the changing landscape of leadership.
“The challenges are increasingly complex, so our conference has always been about practical leadership, not just theory,” she says. “Attendees are going to leave with ideas they can use immediately.”
This is the 12th annual conference, and Bucholtz says it keeps returning to the area because of the increased demand for local, affordable, and quality professional development opportunities while keeping it local to the community.
“We try and address what we’re hearing in the community and where there are some professional development opportunities,” she says. “So, this year we’re looking at the soft skills, this is about partnerships and building trust in leadership positions.”
The conference is scheduled for Oct. 29, for more information, visit the Algonquin’s website.
