The Ottawa Valley Community Foundation has donated $10,000 toward the purchase of a new CT scanner at Pembroke Regional Hospital.
The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation says the Ottawa Valley Community Foundation’s board of directors approved the contribution outside its annual granting process, recognizing the project’s importance to health care across the region.
The donation supports the hospital foundation’s Together We Care Campaign, which is raising funds for the new diagnostic imaging equipment. The scanner is now operational at the hospital.
Roger Martin, executive director of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation, says the contribution brings the campaign closer to completing its fundraising goal.
CT scans help medical teams diagnose a wide range of conditions and make timely decisions about patient care.
Jamie Bourgeois, community liaison with the Ottawa Valley Community Foundation, says the organization is proud to support an investment that will benefit local families for years to come.
The hospital foundation says community donations help ensure residents can access modern health-care services close to home.
