TODAY: English Conversation Group meets at the Pembroke Public Library from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 24, providing a friendly setting for people to practise conversational English and build confidence speaking with others.
TODAY: Pride Vendor Fair – Pembroke Campus Pride Week takes place at Algonquin College Pembroke from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The free event brings local vendors and artisans to campus, giving visitors a chance to browse products and connect with community organizations and businesses.
TODAY: Messy Play – Play Troop / EarlyON runs at the South Side Community Centre in Petawawa from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Families with children ages zero to six can take part in hands-on play and learning activities.
TODAY: Tot Time takes place at the South Side Community Centre from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The program is specifically for infants from birth to 18 months and focuses on bonding through songs, finger plays, stories and other gentle activities. Pre-registration is required.
TODAY: The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Clinic is available at the Renfrew County and District Health Unit’s Pembroke office from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. by appointment, while Let’s Grow with Immunization runs there from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. by appointment.
TODAY: Mini Makers takes place at the Petawawa Public Library from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Children ages six to 12 can take part in hands-on crafts, art, STEM, sensory activities and imaginative play. Registration is required.
TODAY: Tot Sports has its final scheduled session in Petawawa from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Toddlers and a parent or caregiver can try a different sport each week while building basic movement and motor skills. The Town lists registration as closed.
TODAY: Ask a Dietitian: The Foundation of Women’s Nutrition takes place online from noon to 1:00 p.m. The CFMWS webinar looks at women’s nutritional needs through different life stages and provides practical guidance for CAF members and those who support them.
TODAY: Speed Friending for Adults in Petawawa runs from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the South Side Community Centre. The free evening uses games and conversation to help military and civilian adults meet new people, with pizza provided. Registration was required by September 23.
TODAY: Teen Dungeons & Dragons takes place at the Petawawa Public Library from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Teens can play a tabletop role-playing game and socialize with other players.
TODAY: Skylight Drive-In presents The Odyssey followed by One Night Only Thursday evening in Pembroke. The drive-in says gates open about an hour before dusk and the two movies run back-to-back.
TODAY: Taste, Talk & Tour: Open House takes place Thursday, September 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Carefor Civic Complex Retirement Care Home in Pembroke. Visitors can tour the residence, enjoy refreshments and ask questions about Carefor’s retirement-living options. RSVPs are encouraged because space is limited, although walk-ins are welcome.
TODAY: A Healthcare Mixer takes place at Sip Social by Sip Stirs from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The City of Pembroke says the $20 event is aimed at connecting healthcare professionals, with appetizers, zero-proof drinks and a mixology experience included.
TOMORROW: Hugs, Snuggles and Rhymes takes place at the Pembroke Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 25. Young children and caregivers can enjoy stories, songs and activities focused on early literacy and interaction.
TOMORROW: Tech Time runs at the Pembroke Public Library from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, offering assistance with everyday technology questions, devices and digital tools.

TOMORROW: Routine Immunization Clinics – Pembroke are scheduled at the Renfrew County and District Health Unit from 8:40 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. Friday. Appointments are available through the Health Unit’s booking system.
TOMORROW: Friday Nights at the Petawawa Container Market returns from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday in Civic Centre Park, with local vendors, food and small businesses.
TOMORROW: Petawawa’s EarlyON sensory-play lending library pickup is also scheduled Friday for registered families. The PMFRC lists September 25 as one of its pickup dates for families borrowing a sensory-play kit.
TOMORROW: Skylight Drive-In is also open Friday with The Odyssey and One Night Only running back-to-back, continuing the drive-in’s Thursday-to-Sunday schedule.
TOMORROW: Franco-Ontarian Day is being officially recognized in Pembroke on Friday, September 25. The City has proclaimed the date in recognition of the Francophone community’s contributions to Ontario and the local community.
TOMORROW: A second Taste, Talk & Tour: Open House takes place Friday, September 25, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Carefor MacKay Centre Retirement Care Home in Pembroke. The open house offers another opportunity to tour the residence, sample refreshments and get answers about retirement living and Carefor’s services.
