Two Pembroke streets are being closed to traffic for road construction beginning Wednesday afternoon.
The City of Pembroke says River Road, between Morris Street and Deacon Street, and Bell Street, between MacKay Street and River Road, will be closed from 3 p.m. Aug. 19 until 5 p.m. Aug. 24.
Emergency vehicles and local traffic will be permitted in the affected areas, while detours will be in place for other drivers.
The city is warning motorists to follow posted signs and expect delays. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes where possible.
Businesses located within the construction and detour areas remain open, the city says.
The closures are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements in Pembroke.
