A collision that took out hydro to several homes in the Upper Ottawa Valley last week has seen charges laid against a Brampton tractor-trailer driver who has been charged with careless driving after the vehicle left Highway 17 east of Deep River.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers responded shortly after 4 a.m. Aug. 10 to reports the truck had entered the ditch in Laurentian Hills Township. No injuries were reported.
The driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act. The highway was closed for several hours while the truck was removed and a damaged utility pole was replaced.
