The Petawawa Heritage Village will celebrate the Ottawa Valley’s history and traditions later this month with its annual Heritage Festival.
The three-day event runs Aug. 21 to 23 at the village on Civic Centre Road and will feature historic tours, historical re-enactors, live entertainment, artisan vendors and interactive demonstrations.
Visitors can also take part in storytelling and cultural performances, sample traditional heritage foods and explore displays featuring local history. Costumed interpreters and re-enactors will bring aspects of the region’s past to life throughout the weekend.
Local musician Gillian Rutz is among the performers scheduled to provide live entertainment.
Organizers say the festival is the Heritage Village’s largest event of the year and is intended to bring residents and visitors together to celebrate the people, culture and history that have shaped Petawawa.
The festival will also offer family-friendly activities, with organizers encouraging visitors to attend for a day or spend the entire weekend exploring the village.
More information and festival updates are available through the Petawawa Heritage Village website and Instagram page.
