A popular Pembroke band is lobbying for more live entertainment in the downtown core, and they want to know how many people agree and would like to see the idea come to fruition.
The Ghost Buskers recently spoke with myFM to promote the concept, which guitarist and vocalist Alan Harden says stems from his experience living in Phoenix, Arizona, for many years before moving to Pembroke.
Harden is well aware that Phoenix enjoys nearly year-round summer weather, while Pembroke winters are a force to be reckoned with. However, he believes spring through fall provides the perfect opportunity for more outdoor live music. The idea?
Bass player Garney Paterson says a recent outdoor performance in downtown Pembroke got him thinking about the potential for more entertainment in the core, and that’s when the idea started to take shape.
Rounding out the trio is drummer Ray Sehn, who says he and Harden stayed in close contact over the years, and both felt Pembroke was ready for more live entertainment at some point in the future.
For now, the band plans to keep rocking stages throughout Pembroke and the surrounding area while continuing to lobby for more opportunities to bring live music to the downtown core for themselves and other local musicians.
