A Petawawa-based construction company is preparing for the return of its annual barbecue fundraiser to help support animals in need in Renfrew County.
Dexterra’s annual Doggy Paddle Flippin’ and Sippin’ Barbecue fundraiser for the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre is scheduled for Friday, August 7th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Louise Eland, a warehouse administrator for Dexterra, says her team has been organizing annual fundraising initiatives for the SPCA for several years now.
Past barbecues have drawn crowds between 150 and 200 people, Eland says.
In addition to the five-dollar barbecue meals, Eland says her team will be giving away over $2,000 in prizes via raffle to attendees.
All the proceeds will support the SPCA, which Eland says was chosen because her team is full of animal lovers.
The barbecue is taking place in the Dexterra parking lot at 2645 Petawawa Boulevard on the 7th.
