A tradition that dates back to 1990 is set to return to Deep River this weekend.
Deep River Summerfest runs from July 31st to August 2nd. Social media representative Eileen Cochrane says the event is a major part of the community’s history.
Cochrane says she looks forward to a large turnout, adding that the family-friendly festival offers something for everyone.
Friday evening’s tribute night features homages to Queen, Abba, the Tragically Hip, Weezer, Green Day and AC/DC.
Cochrane also says a brand-new attraction will be available for some attendees to try on the 31st: a mechanical bull in the beer tent.
Gates open for the festival at 5:00 p.m. on Friday at Unity Park.
