Here’s a look at what’s going on in the town for the next 48 hours!
The middle of the week is shaping up to be a busy one across Pembroke and Petawawa, with everything from outdoor movies and live music to community markets, family programs and creative workshops. Whether you’re planning a family outing or simply looking for a reason to get out of the house, the next 48 hours offer plenty of options.
Tuesday features another free evening at the Pembroke waterfront as Movie Night in the Park continues with a screening of Jurassic World Rebirth. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a movie under the stars with family and friends. Admission is free, and donations in support of St. Joseph’s Food Bank are welcomed.
Earlier in the day, Petawawa offers a full schedule of activities for all ages. The Petawawa Public Library’s Summer Activities return with drop-in programs for children, while Family Play Troop through EarlyON provides young children and caregivers with another opportunity to learn and socialize through play. Adults can tap into their creative side during Creative Creations, children can continue building early literacy skills through Jolly Phonics, and residents looking for information about local services can take advantage of Extended Hours for Navigational Support. Hello Haul – Resources for All: Summer Edition also continues throughout the day, connecting families with valuable community resources.
Wednesday brings another full slate of community events. Downtown Pembroke comes alive with the weekly Pembroke Farmers’ Market, where local growers, bakers, artisans and vendors offer everything from fresh produce and flowers to baked goods, preserves and handcrafted products. It’s also a chance to meet local producers and enjoy one of the city’s favourite weekly traditions.
Music lovers can spend the afternoon at Music Café, a relaxed gathering featuring live entertainment, refreshments and conversation, before heading to the waterfront in the evening. At 7 p.m., the City of Pembroke’s free Waterfront LIVE! concert series continues with Charla, performing an acoustic pop set at the Riverwalk Amphitheatre. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy another summer evening beside the Ottawa River.
Petawawa also remains busy on Wednesday with Baby Time at the library, Family Play Troop, Jolly Phonics, Snack It Up, Hello Haul – Resources for All: Summer Edition, and additional community games and activities at the South Side Community Centre, offering plenty of opportunities for families to stay active and connected.
Whether you’re catching a movie outdoors, browsing the farmers’ market, enjoying live music by the waterfront or taking advantage of the many family and community programs available in Petawawa, there are plenty of ways to make the most of the next 48 hours.
