A provincewide investigation targeting online child sexual exploitation has resulted in 63 arrests, 213 charges and the identification of 51 victims, Ontario police say.
Project Time, led through the Provincial Internet Child Exploitation Strategy, involved the Ontario Provincial Police and 25 municipal police services. Investigators focused on individuals accused of creating, possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material.
Police seized 814 electronic devices, launched 264 investigations and say 154 remain active. Two of those charged held positions of trust within their communities, while eight were identified as repeat offenders.
Authorities continue to urge the public to report suspected child exploitation to police or Cybertip.ca.
