Fans of country and bluegrass music are being invited to enjoy a weekend of music next to the Madawaska River.
The latest annual Palmer Rapids Twin Music Festival is set to begin on Thursday, July 23rd and run through the weekend, ending on the 26th.
Tom Martel, a member of the band Hillbilly Deluxe, is set to perform at the festival and explained that it’s been running for over 20 years at this point.
Residents in attendance usually camp out at the festival grounds, Martel says. This year’s lineup features a variety of artists, including a mixture of local and international acts on both the bluegrass and country stages.
The 23rd will also feature the annual Palmer Rapids Idol Contest, which Martel says is a chance for musically-inclined attendees to perform in front of the crowd.
Martel says single-day passes are available in addition to tickets for the full weekend. He’s urging attendees to bring cash, as the festival grounds don’t have cell service.
Hillbilly Deluze will be playing Friday evening, twice on Saturday, and one final time in a matinee on Sunday, all on the country stage.
