Here’s a look at what’s going on in the town for the next 48 hours!
The pace may slow down a little after a busy summer weekend, but there are still plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the community over the next 48 hours.
Monday starts on a relaxed note in Pembroke with the Books and Beyond Walking Club, where readers and walkers can enjoy some fresh air, light exercise and good conversation. Monday evening, the waterfront comes alive once again as Waterfront LIVE! welcomes Fowler, Wheeler & Jones for a free concert featuring classic rock and folk. Bring a lawn chair, settle in by the river and enjoy another night of live music.
Petawawa has a full schedule throughout the day. Families with little ones can take part in Baby Tales at the library or join the Family Play Troop through EarlyON. Young readers can build their literacy skills during Jolly Phonics, while students preparing for summer jobs can drop in for resume and cover letter assistance. Community members can also access supports through the Hello Haul – Resources for All: Summer Edition, stay active with non-competitive volleyball in the evening, or attend Petawawa’s Council-in-Committee meeting to learn more about what’s happening at the municipal level.
Tuesday offers another evening outdoors in Pembroke as Movie Night in the Park returns with a free showing of the family baseball comedy Rookie of the Year. Pack a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy one of the city’s favourite summer traditions under the stars.
Petawawa continues to stay busy throughout the day with another round of Family Play Troop, Jolly Phonics, Hello Haul, and the library’s Drop-in Summer Activities for children. Adults can get creative during the Creative Creations – Tree of Me art session, while entrepreneurs, artists and inventors may be interested in the free Bring Your Creations to Life: Learn Why Intellectual Property Matters workshop, which explores patents, trademarks, copyrights and other ways to protect creative ideas. The community can also access Extended Hours for Navigational Support, connecting residents with local programs and services.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing evening by the waterfront, an activity for the kids, a chance to meet new people or an opportunity to learn something new, there’s plenty happening across Pembroke and Petawawa over the next two days.
That’s your community roundup — more local events coming up tomorrow!
