The City of Pembroke will officially kick off its Pembroke 200 campaign next week as planning ramps up for the community’s bicentennial celebrations in 2028.
A public launch ceremony is set for Wednesday, July 22, at 7 p.m. at the Riverwalk Amphitheatre in Waterfront Park. The event will feature remarks from local officials, a ceremonial performance by the 2CMBG Pipes and Drums, anniversary displays and cake.
City officials say the launch marks the start of broader community involvement, with volunteers, sponsors and community partners invited to help shape events and legacy projects leading up to the milestone anniversary. Mayor Ron Gervais says the bicentennial is an opportunity to bring the community together to celebrate Pembroke’s history and future.
