A major fibre cable cut is being blamed for a widespread Cogeco outage affecting internet customers across Eastern Ontario.
Tech Expert Mike Shurtliffe says the disruption began around 1:55 Monday afternoon, after damage to Cogeco’s main network infrastructure knocked services offline.
Shurtliffe says technicians are working on repairs, but it’s still not clear how long it will take to restore service.
Meanwhile, due to the sheer volume of people looking for information, Cogeco’s online support system crashed
