Here’s a look at what’s going on in the town for the next 48 hours!
Summer weekends always seem to fill up quickly, and the next couple of days offer plenty of ways to spend time with family, catch up with friends or simply enjoy being outside.
Friday starts at the Pembroke Public Library, where Hugs, Snuggles and Rhymes begins at 10:30, giving infants, toddlers and their caregivers a fun morning of stories and songs. Later in the day, adults can stop by Tech Time from 2 until 4 for help with phones, tablets or computers, while young readers have another chance to enjoy Mini Librarian at 2:30.
As the afternoon rolls along, Petawawa’s Container Market opens from 3 until 8, bringing together local vendors, artisans and food in a relaxed outdoor setting. Then, when evening arrives, head to Pembroke’s Riverwalk Amphitheatre for another free Waterfront LIVE! concert. The Blender Project takes the stage at 7 p.m., performing a mix of country, bluegrass, gospel and rock beside the Ottawa River.
Saturday keeps the momentum going. The Pembroke Farmers’ Market is open from 10 until 3, making it a great stop for fresh produce, homemade baking and locally crafted goods, while the Petawawa Container Market returns for another full day of shopping and community spirit.
Saturday evening wraps up with another free concert on the waterfront. Strings and Ivory bring their variety show to Waterfront LIVE! at 7 p.m., offering another chance to settle in with a lawn chair and enjoy live entertainment in one of the city’s best summer settings.
