Here’s a look at what’s going on in the town for the next 48 hours!
The weekend might still be a day away, but the next couple of days have plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the community before it arrives.
Thursday is a great day for families at the Pembroke Public Library. Mini Librarian gets underway at 10:30, introducing little ones to books through stories and activities, and later in the afternoon, kids can become detectives during Where in the Ocean is Carmen Sandiego? from 2:30 until 3:30, solving clues in an interactive ocean-themed adventure. While that’s happening, adults can drop into Thirsty Thursdays from 2 until 4 for a relaxed afternoon of conversation.
When the sun starts to set, the waterfront becomes the place to be. Randa returns to the Waterfront LIVE! stage at 7 p.m., bringing an energetic blend of country and pop to another free evening concert at the Riverwalk Amphitheatre.
Friday begins with Hugs, Snuggles and Rhymes from 10:30 until 11:30 at the Pembroke Public Library, followed by Tech Time from 2 until 4, where staff are ready to help with everything from smartphones to laptops. There’s also an afternoon session of Mini Librarian at 2:30 for young readers.
Then Friday night wraps up with another stop at the waterfront. The Blender Project takes the stage at 7 p.m. as part of Waterfront LIVE!, serving up an evening of country and bluegrass that’s perfect for settling in with a lawn chair and enjoying another summer night by the river.
That’s your community roundup — more local events coming up tomorrow!
