Fire Chief Chris Sarazin of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation will be honoured with the Anishinabek Lifetime Achievement Award during the 2026 Anishinabek Evening of Excellence.
Sarazin will receive the award Aug. 27 at Casino Rama Resort in Rama, Ont. The honour recognizes individuals whose lifelong leadership and service have made lasting contributions to their communities and the Anishinabek Nation.
The First Nation said Sarazin has spent more than 30 years serving the community through the Pikwakanagan Fire Department and as a medical transportation driver. His work has included strengthening emergency response services, promoting fire prevention and mentoring future firefighters.
Chief Greg Sarazin said the award reflects Chris Sarazin’s decades of dedication, professionalism and leadership, adding the community is proud to see him recognized for his contributions.
