Madawaska Valley’s annual Summer Studio Tour returns July 18 and 19, inviting visitors to explore artists’ studios across the region and meet the creators behind their work.
The free, self-guided event will see participating studios open their doors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Locations stretch from Barry’s Bay to Eganville and from Quadeville to Killaloe.
Visitors will have the opportunity to watch live demonstrations by established and emerging artists, learn about their creative processes and purchase original artwork and fine crafts. Organizers say the tour offers a rare chance to see artists at work in their own studios using a variety of materials, including wood, clay, glass, leather, fabric, wool and metal.
Those taking part can plan their route in advance or explore the region at their own pace while travelling the scenic roads of Madawaska Valley.
Studios taking part in the tour will be marked with red maple leaf signs, while brochures with maps are available at local businesses and tourism offices.
Additional information, including a map of participating studios, is available on the Madawaska Valley Summer Studio Tour website.
