The host of CBC’s Garden Talk podcast says he hasn’t had a chance to see everything that Pembroke has to offer yet, but he likes what he has seen so much that he’s considering coming back in the future.
Paul Zammit was invited to the city on July 8th by the Carefor Community Garden to take a tour of its green spaces and give a presentation at Algonquin College.
Zammit’s tour began at Waterfront Park, where he was presented with a book of photos of the city taken by a local photographer as well as a gift set from the city by Mayor Ron Gervais and Deputy Mayor Brian Abdallah.
Zammit’s invitation was for the “Cultivating Community” seminar scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on the 8th at Algonquin College’s Pembroke campus. Zammit said he doesn’t care if residents remember who he is after his presentation, but he hopes they take away the message that he’s sharing.
For anyone interested in learning more about horticulture and gardening, Zammit encourages them to listen to Garden Talk and to reach out online.
Both Mayor Gervais and Deputy Mayor Abdallah thanked Zammit for taking the time to visit Pembroke.
