Here’s a look at what’s going on in the town for the next 48 hours!
The middle of the week has a way of slowing people down—but around Pembroke and Petawawa, there are plenty of reasons to head back out and enjoy a summer day.
Wednesday starts with younger families in Petawawa, where Little Explorers gets underway at 10 o’clock, giving kids a chance to discover nature through hands-on activities. Around lunchtime, Pembroke’s Music Cafe with Homemade Jam begins at 1 p.m. at the library, offering an afternoon of live music and conversation in a relaxed setting.
Later in the day, local flavour takes centre stage as the Pembroke Farmers’ Market opens from 2 until 6. Whether you’re stocking up on fresh produce, looking for homemade baking or just catching up with familiar faces, it’s one of those weekly traditions that always brings the community together.
As the evening rolls in, there are opportunities on both sides of the river. Fundamental Movement Skills begins at 5 in Petawawa, helping children build confidence through fun and active play. Then at 7, the Riverwalk Amphitheatre comes alive with the sound of bagpipes as the 2 CMBG Pipes and Drums perform another free Waterfront LIVE! concert overlooking the Ottawa River.
Thursday has a quieter pace, but there are still a few great reasons to get out. Young readers can enjoy Mini Librarian at 10:30 at the Pembroke Public Library, followed by Thirsty Thursdays at 2, a welcoming social afternoon for adults. Then, to wrap up the day, head back to the waterfront where Randa returns to the Waterfront LIVE! stage at 7 p.m., bringing an energetic mix of country and pop to another free summer concert.
That’s your community roundup — more local events coming up tomorrow!
