Two drivers are facing impaired driving charges after a head-on collision in Petawawa over the weekend, the Ontario Provincial Police said.
Officers with the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP responded to the crash on Town Centre Boulevard at about 9 p.m. on July 4. Police said both drivers were investigated using an approved roadside screening device before additional testing was completed at the detachment.
A 54-year-old Petawawa resident has been charged with impaired operation, operating a vehicle with a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and careless driving. A 33-year-old Ottawa resident is charged with impaired operation and operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration.
Police said both drivers had their licences suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days. They are scheduled to appear in court in Pembroke on Aug. 17.
