Seven students from across Renfrew County are launching their own businesses this summer through Enterprise Renfrew County’s Summer Company program.
The organization announced this year’s participants, who will receive training, mentorship and startup funding to help turn their business ideas into operating ventures over the summer months.
The 2026 participants are:
- Nadia DeCarle of Pembroke, owner of Riverscout Clay, creating handmade pottery for pets and their owners.
- Hudson Warner of Pembroke, owner of Shine My Clubs, offering golf club and equipment detailing and maintenance.
- Bronwynn Dick of Admaston/Bromley Township, owner of Green Thumb, providing garden maintenance services including weeding, watering, planting and harvesting.
- Kelsea Moore of Whitewater Region Township, owner of Moore Volleyball, offering private and group volleyball instruction.
- Rusty Stuart of North Algona Wilberforce Township, owner of Red Pine Woodworks, specializing in custom woodworking projects.
- Evelyn Finan of Whitewater Region Township, owner of Garden Palette Goods, creating handcrafted nature-inspired artwork and themed treats.
- Adelaid Lomore-Beaupre of Laurentian Valley Township, owner of Addie Made, producing handmade crafts including knitted items, clay art, painted creations and keychains.
Enterprise Renfrew County said participants in the provincial Summer Company program, open to students between the ages of 15 and 29, can receive up to $1,500 in startup funding after completing required training, with the opportunity to earn an additional $1,500 based on their business performance over the summer.
The organization said residents will have opportunities to meet the young entrepreneurs at vendor events across Renfrew County throughout the season.
Perri-Rae Boell & Associates Inc. is sponsoring this year’s local Summer Company program.
Enterprise Renfrew County delivers the Summer Company program on behalf of the Ontario government. The organization is funded by the Government of Ontario, the County of Renfrew, the Town of Renfrew and the City of Pembroke.
