Julie Edwards, Wild Grounded Retreats
A company offering private women’s retreats in the Ottawa Valley is looking for some people to sign up for upcoming retreats.
Julie Edwards founded Wild Grounded Retreats following a period of burnout several years ago in her career as a social worker.
Following that life-changing experience, Edwards changed course and began running retreats out of three cottages along the Ottawa River she owns with her husband.
All the practitioners and providers that assist with the retreats, like massage therapists and osteopathy practitioners, are local to the Valley. Edwards says the retreats also often include creative activities like pottery and painting, guided by local teachers, and every single retreat is catered by professional companies serving what she calls wholesome, gourmet food.
Edwards has partnered with local grief expert Julie Keon for the upcoming “Good Grief” retreat, which she says she’s still seeking participants for.
Other highlights from the itinerary for that retreat include a restorative touch yoga session, a breath workshop and a creative workshop facilitated by Keon. It’s scheduled from August 8th to 9th and is capped at ten participants.
Coming up a couple weeks later is the Grounded Leader Retreat from August 23rd to 24th, which Edwards says is intended for women in leadership positions.
Edwards’ annual fall wellness retreat is also scheduled for this September.
Details for how to sign up for either of those retreats, as well as updates on more happening in the future, are available on the Wild Grounded Retreats website.
