Members of the youth theatre club at Festival Hall are preparing to showcase the play they’ve been working on since March.
Program director Karen Walsh says the club began in the fall of 2025 as a nine-week initiative to teach kids skills like stage management and direction, before expanding earlier this year.
Walsh says the upcoming play will allow the kids taking part in the club to use the skills they’ve been learning over the last few months. According to Walsh, interest was so strong that the program may expand further in the future.
The play, The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, is scheduled for Sunday, June 28th at 2:00 p.m.
Gabrielle Lavigne, a performer with the club who will be playing the role of the lady-in-waiting, says she’s excited and nervous to take the stage this weekend.
Walsh says 18 kids will make up the play’s cast, with ages ranging from nine to 15 years old.
Tickets cost $18.50 each and are available on the Festival Hall website.
