A local photographer’s work is being showcased at the Pembroke Mall, and he says he’s received many positive comments about the exhibition.
The works of Dennis Corrigan, originally from Barry’s Bay, are on display at the mall right now to celebrate the mall’s 55th anniversary.
The exhibit features pictures Corrigan took at various concerts over the course of his life, showing a wide variety of performers on stage. He says it combines his two passions of music and photography.
According to Corrigan, he’s been bringing cameras to concerts and taking photos for many, many years – including a time before digital cameras, when he used a 35mm Pentax film shooter.
Corrigan says his first concert was 55 years ago too, making this something of an anniversary for himself as well.
It’s hard to pick a favourite, but Corrigan’s love for music started with the Beatles, so some pictures he took at a Paul McCartney show remain close to his heart.
The display will remain up at the mall until the end of June. Corrigan says all of the photos are available for sale for $225 each for anyone interested in buying one for their home.
