Another shining example of Pembroke Community Spirit was seen this past Friday night at The Pembroke Legion as “Rhythm of Giving” in support of John Butler and his family brought friends, family and well wishers out in droves.
The evening organized by Brian Abdallah’s Green Tomato Productions and Mike Levign’s BigMike Productions was put on to raise funds for the Butler family who lost their home in a devastating fire on April 27th of this year.
With music by headliners Stereotypical and the support of several other local acts, over $4,000 was raised to help the Butler family get back on their feet after such a terrible loss. Abdallah says that the spirit of community that was seen that night is certainly nothing new to Pembroke and the entire Valley:
Mike Levigne who has seen his fair share of fundraisers and community gatherings over the years is still amazed and grateful when he sees this kind of a turnout.
The man of the hour John Butler was visibly moved by the evening as he graciously accepted the donations and well wishes from everyone who came out to support him and his family.
The cause of the fire that destroyed the Butler home has not as yet been determined but investigations continue. The Butlers hope to relocate back into the community permanently in the coming weeks.
