Here is a look at what’s going on in the town for the next 48 hours!
If you’re looking for ways to get out and enjoy the community over the next couple of days, there are plenty of opportunities happening across Pembroke and Petawawa.
Thursday begins at the Pembroke Public Library with the English Conversation Group from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. It’s a welcoming chance to practise language skills, meet new people, and enjoy some friendly conversation.
Over in Petawawa, the afternoon offers a few different ways to get involved. Young artists between the ages of 11 and 15 can take part in Art2Start at the Petawawa Public Library from 4 until 5 p.m., exploring creative projects and new artistic techniques.
The Town of Petawawa calendar also features an Outdoor Photography Club gathering and a Happy Hikers outing, offering residents opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and connect with others who share similar interests. Meanwhile, those interested in transportation infrastructure can attend the Ministry of Transportation’s Public Open House on the Highway 17 Arnprior-to-Renfrew Twinning Project, providing an opportunity to learn more about the project and ask questions.
Friday brings another busy day at local libraries. In Pembroke, Hugs, Snuggles and Rhymes takes place from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m., giving young children and caregivers a chance to enjoy stories, songs, and early learning activities together.
In Petawawa, creative adults can join Sip & Paint at the Petawawa Public Library from 1 until 2:30 p.m. for a relaxed afternoon of art and socializing.
Back in Pembroke, Tech Time runs from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Public Library, offering one-on-one assistance for anyone needing help with phones, tablets, computers, or other technology. Then from 4 until 5 p.m., the French Conversation Group provides an opportunity to practise speaking French in a casual and supportive setting.
As Friday evening arrives, the Town of Petawawa’s Friday Nights at the Container Market gets underway, bringing the community together for an evening atmosphere featuring local vendors, food, and activities.
Whether you’re looking to learn, create, explore the outdoors, or simply spend time with neighbours and friends, there’s something happening across the Upper Ottawa Valley over the next couple of days.
