Drivers parking in downtown Pembroke will now be using a new generation of parking meters following the completion of a citywide upgrade project.
Municipal officials say the newly installed black meters with digital displays are now operating at metered street parking locations throughout the downtown core and along Pembroke Street East.
Parking rates remain $1 per hour with a maximum stay of three hours. Motorists can pay using coins, debit or credit cards, or through the HONK Mobile app. The city notes that street parking spaces without meters continue to offer free parking for up to three hours.
