Here is a look at what’s going on in the town for the next 48 hours!
If you’re looking for ways to get out and connect with your community this weekend, there are plenty of family-friendly activities happening in Pembroke and Petawawa.
Friday gets underway in Petawawa with Do-Re-Me & Baby Music at the Petawawa Public Library. Families can choose from two sessions, running from 9:30 to 10 a.m. and again from 10:15 to 10:45. It’s a fun opportunity for babies and caregivers to enjoy music, movement, and sensory play together.
Later in the morning, over at the Pembroke Public Library, Hugs, Snuggles and Rhymes runs from 10:30 until 11:30. Young children and their caregivers can enjoy stories, songs, and activities designed to build early literacy skills while having fun.
Then on Friday afternoon, the Pembroke Public Library hosts Tech Time from 2 until 4 p.m. If you’ve got questions about your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or other devices, it’s a great chance to get some one-on-one help.
Saturday brings even more family activities. In Pembroke, the Pembroke Public Library launches its TD Summer Reading Club with a Pirates and Mermaids Party at Kinsmen Park and Pool from 11 a.m. until noon. Families can expect themed activities, games, and plenty of fun as the summer reading season gets underway.
Meanwhile in Petawawa, the Petawawa Public Library celebrates its own TD Summer Reading Launch, helping young readers kick off a summer filled with books, activities, and adventures. Also on Saturday, families can take part in French Story Time with CECCE from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m., offering stories and activities in a welcoming French-language environment.
Whether you’re introducing little ones to music, encouraging a love of reading, or looking for a little tech support, there are lots of opportunities to stay active and engaged across the Upper Ottawa Valley this weekend.
