Pembroke residents are being reminded to watch when they water lawns and gardens this summer.
The City of Pembroke says its Water Restriction By-law remains in effect until September 15, as water use can rise by up to 50 per cent during the warmer months.
Officials say the rules are meant to help manage peak demand, protect local infrastructure and make sure everyone has access to clean water when they need it.
Properties with even-numbered addresses can water lawns and gardens on even calendar days. Properties with odd-numbered addresses can water on odd calendar days.
Watering is only allowed between 6 and 10 a.m. and 6 and 10 p.m.
The city says municipal bylaw enforcement officers are enforcing the rules. Anyone who breaks the bylaw could be found guilty of an offence and face fines or other penalties.
