The fifteenth annual Kids of Steel Triathlon is coming up in a few weeks in Petawawa.
Race Director Kirsten Waymann says the three-leg event will see participants ages four to 17 years old swimming, biking and racing at Garrison Petawawa.
The race is scheduled for Sunday, July 5th. Waymann says participants can pick up their race kits the day before at Dundonald Hall. A pre-race meeting will be held at 8:30 in the morning, and she expects to wrap up around noon.
The event will also feature a “duathlon” race for younger children between three and five years old.
Waymann, a triathlon enthusiast. took over organizing duties for the annual race from its original creator due to her love of the sport, which helped her connect with her son when he was a child.
Waymann says the race website has registration details, and racers will need to source their own bicycles and equipment. The 100th entrant will get in for free.
