A week-long fundraiser at Tim Hortons in Barry’s Bay raised more than $11,000 for local health-care services, organizers announced.
The sale of Smile Cookies generated $11,435 during Smile Cookie Week, which ran from April 26 to May 3, with proceeds benefiting the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation.
The foundation supports health-care initiatives and equipment needs at Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care, St. Francis Memorial Hospital and Valley Manor.
Foundation officials expressed gratitude to Tim Hortons owners, staff, volunteers and customers who contributed to the campaign’s success.
The Barry’s Bay Tim Hortons restaurant has been a long-time supporter of local health care through the annual fundraiser. Since partnering with the foundation, the restaurant has raised more than $89,000 through Smile Cookie sales.
Funds from this year’s campaign will be directed toward local health-care needs in the community.
