The Oaks of Cobden will be draped in pink when the Upper Ottawa Valley Ringette League drops by later this summer.
League Director Tyson Andress says their second annual golf tournament is looking to build on the success of last year’s debut supporting one of the best non-contact ways to introduce local girls to sports, with a focus on teamwork, speed, and cooperation.
The July 4th tournament is part of offseason fundraising efforts by the many volunteers who make the league possible, which keep registration costs low, as well as cover jerseys, equipment, and training that have given the players the ability to fully explore the sport.
Andress also points out that ringette has been a fantastic way for the community to connect, something he was looking for when he first joined the league a few years ago.
More details on the tournament are expected soon, and Andress encourages the community to save the date with registration coming soon.
