Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP are investigating a fatal off-road collision in the Town of Petawawa.
Police say they were called to Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs Trail 128 on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at about 4:45 p.m., after a report of a single dirt bike collision. Investigators say the rider left the trail and struck a tree.
A 27-year-old Petawawa man was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by bystanders and emergency responders. The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team is assisting with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
