A local hospital auxiliary has contributed tens of thousands of dollars toward new medical equipment and patient amenities in the community.
During its Spring Fashion Show and Luncheon on April 15, the Pembroke Regional Hospital Auxiliary presented a $40,000 cheque to support the purchase of a new echocardiography ultrasound machine, part of a larger $200,000 investment.
The donation includes $15,000 from the auxiliary’s general fund, supported by revenue from its café, gift shop, ATM services and television rentals. An additional $23,000 came from Delta Bingo and Gaming Pembroke, while $2,000 was raised through HELPP lottery ticket sales.
The auxiliary has also funded improvements to patient comfort, recently purchasing nine new televisions for the hospital’s second-floor medical unit at a cost of $9,500.
A $1,500 contribution from La Fédération des femmes canadiennes françaises EBINGO St. Jean Baptiste helped offset that expense and was acknowledged during the April event.
Hospital officials say the contributions will enhance both diagnostic capabilities and patient experience at the facility.
