Local Tim Hortons locations are raising money to support struggling families in the Renfrew County area this week.
April 27th to May 3rd is Smile Cookie Week, a regular fundraising initiative that sees Tim Hortons locations across the country selling special cookies for a dollar each and donating all the proceeds to local organizations near them.
This year, the proceeds from Ottawa Valley Tim Hortons restaurants are being put towards the Renfrew County Community Poverty Action Network.
The chair of the organization’s board of directors, Alexis Sapera, explained the work they do in an interview:
According to Sapera, this isn’t the first time her team has partnered with the McClusky Group, the owners of various Ottawa and Ottawa Valley-based Tim Hortons restaurants.
That “Tools for Schools” initiative provides struggling families with school supplies to help them as their children prepare to return to school in September.
Sapera says any amount of money helps:
Anyone interested in volunteering to help Renfrew County CPAN or benefit from its programs is urged to visit its website for more information.
