An Ottawa man is facing multiple charges after police say he was caught driving more than 100 kilometres per hour over the speed limit on Highway 17 in Laurentian Valley Township.
Ontario Provincial Police say the incident happened late Tuesday night when an officer with the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment recorded a vehicle travelling 207 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone. The stop occurred along Highway 17 between Round Lake Road and Forest Lea Road at about 11:30 p.m.
Police say the 32-year-old driver has been charged with stunt driving, speeding more than 50 km/h over the limit, and failing to notify a change of address under the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused was issued summonses to appear in a Pembroke court at a later date.
Police say the driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
