The Ontario Provincial Police says processing times for online police record checks have improved significantly after months of delays.
The OPP says a backlog in 2025 pushed wait times as high as 12 to 14 weeks, prompting a review of its Online Police Record Checks Unit.
For those living in OPP jurisdiction who require a record check, please visit the OPP online police record check process webpage. Please note that detachment staff are unable to process any applications locally.
Officials say added resources and procedural changes have reduced turnaround times to about 10 days, with a 30-day service standard still in place.
