A section of Alexander Street in Pembroke has been temporarily closed due to rising water levels along the Ottawa River.
City officials say the closure is in effect at the trestle entrance to Waterfront Park as of Thursday morning.
The city’s operations department says increased river levels have caused water to backflow through the stormwater system, leading to localized flooding in the area.
The closure has been put in place as a precaution to protect public safety.
Officials say the situation will continue to be monitored and the roadway will reopen once conditions improve.
