A 41-year-old Pembroke resident is facing charges after being arrested by Ontario Provincial Police on an outstanding bench warrant linked to an intimate partner violence investigation.
Police say the individual had been wanted since September 2024 for failing to attend court. Officers located and arrested the accused during a traffic stop in Petawawa on April 8, 2026.
Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP’s Offender Management and Apprehension Program, with support from the bail team and uniform officers, carried out the arrest. Investigators allege the individual also breached previously imposed release conditions.
The accused was charged with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. They were later released following a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear in Pembroke court at a later date. The individual’s identity is being withheld to protect the victim.
