The Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre says it has received a $2,350 donation from the Town of Petawawa’s pet licensing partner, DocuPet.
The organization says the funds come from resident contributions through pet licence purchases and online donations, bringing the total raised since 2020 to more than $7,750.
Officials say the centre cares for roughly 600 animals each year, many arriving as strays or from homes unable to keep them. Pets with valid licence tags are typically reunited with owners more quickly.
Provincial operations manager Tracy McElman says the latest donation will support veterinary care, including diagnostic testing and medications, as well as essential supplies for animals at the facility.
