A recent visit to City Hall by students from Cathedral Catholic Elementary School is leaving a lasting impression on local leaders.
Jordan Dube’s Grade 5 and 6 class met with Mayor Ron Gervais and Councillor Pat Lafreniere in council chambers, where they shared ideas for Pembroke’s future through artwork and poetry highlighting their appreciation for the community.
Gervais called the experience inspiring, praising the students’ creativity and civic-minded thinking, as well as the efforts of their teachers to foster engagement. Since the visit, Lafreniere has been reading one of the students’ poems at each council meeting, keeping their voices part of the conversation.
