Drivers and pedestrians should expect disruptions next week as road paving and sewer repairs take place on Pembroke Street West in Pembroke.
The City of Pembroke says the westbound lane of Pembroke Street West between Douglas Street and Crandall Street will be reduced to a single lane from Monday, March 16, to Wednesday, March 18.
Work will take place daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. During that time, the north-side sidewalk will be closed to pedestrians and lane widths will be narrowed, which could cause minor traffic disruptions.
Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic through the construction area.
City officials are asking motorists to obey posted construction signage and plan for possible delays. The public is encouraged to consider alternate routes while the work is underway.
The city says businesses located within the construction zone will remain open during the repairs. Officials also thanked residents and travellers for their patience while the infrastructure work is completed.
