Staff members at the Pembroke Regional Hospital are warning residents to expect extended wait times at the emergency department today.
In a Facebook post, hospital workers say that the department is dealing with reduced physician coverage on Tuesday, March 10th, which they say could lead to longer-than-normal wait times.
Patients are being told to still come to the hospital if they’re in need of urgent care, where they’ll be seen based on the urgency of their condition.
Meanwhile, anyone whose concern isn’t an emergency is urged to contact their primary care provider or nurse practitioner.
Those who can’t access those options can contact the Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre at 1-844-727-6404.
Staff say they’re working hard to provide the best care they can to every patient at the hospital.
