Keynote Speaker Debbie Fredericks
The Pembroke Curling Club was the scene of the International Women’s Day luncheon last Friday, and the annual event continues to grow in popularity with every passing year.
Christine Mitchell, Manager of Economic Development for the Town of Petawawa and a board member of the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce, spearheaded this year’s event, noting that a larger venue was needed to accommodate all of the attendees at the luncheon.
This year’s theme was When We Give, We Gain, bringing together business leaders, entrepreneurs and community members to highlight the power of generosity and collaboration. The event emphasized how supporting women through mentorship, advocacy and opportunity helps drive shared economic growth while strengthening communities as a whole.
Canadian Nuclear Laboratories was the title sponsor for the event this year, and CNL’s Chief of Staff, Amy Boyette, said events such as these are critical in bringing the achievements of women everywhere to the forefront.
The event’s keynote speaker was Debbie Fredericks of Bump Coaching, presented in collaboration with Enterprise Renfrew County. Fredericks focused her message on intentional growth, leadership and the power of giving to create meaningful and lasting impact.
