The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation says a Pembroke resident has won more than 23-thousand dollars in its ongoing Catch the Ace raffle.
Foundation officials say Nancy Chaput of Pembroke won the week 37 draw, taking home the weekly pot of 23-thousand and 80 dollars. Her ticket was selected through an online random generator and revealed the seven of hearts. Chaput purchased her ticket online.
The raffle is presented by OK Tire Pembroke.
Foundation executive director Roger Martin says the next draw, scheduled for week 38, will feature an estimated jackpot of about 550-thousand dollars if the ace of spades is revealed.
The foundation says the fundraiser has raised more than 813-thousand dollars for the hospital in the first 37 weeks.
Officials say money raised so far has helped purchase new equipment at Pembroke Regional Hospital, including 10 IV pumps for the emergency department valued at 52-thousand dollars, two surgical chairs worth about 30-thousand dollars and an ultrasound machine valued at roughly 200-thousand dollars.
The foundation says the campaign has also raised more than 531-thousand dollars toward the hospital’s new CT scanner. Combined with funds from a previous round of the raffle, officials say more than one-million dollars has now been raised for the project.
Tickets for the Catch the Ace draw are available online and at several local businesses in Pembroke and Petawawa. Half of ticket sales go toward priority equipment needs at the hospital.
