As pothole season begins in earnest, the City of Pembroke is urging motorists to reduce speed and use caution near road crews working throughout the community.
Officials say fluctuating freeze-thaw cycles can quickly create potholes, prompting frequent repairs that often require workers to step onto busy or narrow streets.
The province has expanded Ontario’s Slow Down/Move Over law to cover vehicles with flashing amber lights. The city reminds drivers to slow down, give crews space and pass only when safe as repairs continue.
