Fellowes High School in Pembroke will be hosting the 2026 OFSAA “AA” Boys Basketball Tournament from Monday, March 9th through the 11th.
Pat Childerhose, teacher and coach at Fellowes, says that the “AA” classification is reserved for schools with 500 to 950 students enrolled. According to Childerhose, the province is divided into 18 associations, with a total of 20 teams competing, and the winners of those various tournaments gather at Fellowes for the two-day event:
Opeongo High and Valour School in Petawawa are the other two local institutions putting forth teams, with the winning teams battling for gold at Fellowes High on March 11. Childerhose explains how the timing for the tournament works out:
The bronze medal game starts at 5:30PM on the 11th, and the gold medal game goes at 7:30PM. Normally, this would be a paid event for spectators, but Childerhose has good news for basketball fans in the area who would be interested in attending:
Head to the website at OFSAA.ca and look for the championship sites for all the information you need. Congratulations to all the participants!
