The Pembroke Kiwanis Music and Dance Festival returns later this month, bringing a week of performances by young artists from across the region.
The annual festival runs Feb. 23 to 26 at Wesley United Church in Pembroke, before moving to Festival Hall at L’Équinoxe for sessions Feb. 27 and 28. Organizers say the event will feature music and dance students of all ages and skill levels.
Participants will perform before adjudicators who provide educational feedback aimed at helping students develop their skills in a supportive setting.
Rhodina Gardner, co-chair and secretary of the festival, said the event is about more than competition.
“It’s about giving young performers the confidence to share their talents, learn from professional adjudicators, and feel supported by their community,” Gardner said in a statement.
She said the festival reflects the Kiwanis Club’s commitment to supporting youth and promoting arts and culture locally. Members of the public are invited to attend the performances.
The event will conclude with the Festival of Stars on March 12 at 7 p.m. at Festival Hall L’Équinoxe, featuring selected performers in a finale showcase.
More information is available on the festival’s website and Facebook page.
